Other Requirements

For the MBA program, candidates typically have 7 years of work experience. Engineering degrees are held by 34% of students, administration degrees by 26%, health/pure/applied sciences by 25%, and humanities by 15%. Proof of one’s professional titles is needed if applicable. For the EMBA program, company sponsorship forms are needed if the person is not self-employed. An undergraduate degree is not necessary if there are other exceptional qualifications.

Process

For the MBA program, there is a quota, meaning that not all eligible candidates will be accepted. The admissions committee looks at everything, including work experience and how well the candidate’s objectives relate to the program’s parameters. There is a strong emphasis on leadership, socialization and ethics. After being accepted, students must respond in a timely fashion. For the EMBA program, potential candidates are to email a CV to info@embamcgillhec.ca. Those who are qualified will receive an invitation to apply.

Admissions Rates

The yearly acceptance rate is 250 for the MBA program.

Financial Aid/Scholarships

For the MBA program, scholarships are based mostly on merit. For the EMBA program, loans are available from the Royal Bank of Canada. They also have the Lifelong Learning Program, which allows tax-free withdrawals of up to $20,000 over a period of several years. Finally, this school offers scholarships for those working in the non-profit sector.

I am happy to share with you that I have been offered a place in the 2010-11 batch of Said Business School, Oxford. The critical input for Chris Coleridge and Tom Kania was very helpful in making my essays more crisp and making my interview presentation sharper. Thank you.
