The median GMAT score is 640.
Interviews
You must fill out an application prior to scheduling an interview. After the school receives your application, they will contact you, if your application warrants it, to schedule an interview.
Interviews are held from September through June, and may be conducted by phone or in person. You may wish to schedule an individual campus visit at the same time as your interview.
Essays
With two short essays, the Broad application makes it more difficult for candidates to differentiate themselves from each other. As such, it is important that your baseline statistics (GMAT and GPA) are close to those of the current MBA class. Given rising competition, you should utilize the optional essay to address weaknesses in baseline statistics that are five percent below the means.
Examples of essay prompts previously used by Broad: - Explain your short-term and long-term career goals. How will the MBA degree and specifically Michigan State's Broad Full Time MBA Program help you achieve these goals? Please address why you believe now is the appropriate time to pursue graduate management education as a part of your response. (Maximum of 750 words)
- A central theme of the MBA program at the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management is 'hands-on leadership.' We expect our students to be future leaders and to begin using their leadership skills while in the program. Please describe what this means to you as a potential student at the Broad School. Limit your response to 750 words.
- (Optional) What other information do you believe is important in the assessment of your candidacy to our MBA program? 400 words or less, please.
- JD/MBA candidates only. In lieu of Essay Question A, please answer the essay question: Why are you applying to the dual degree JD/MBA program? How does this fit with your professional career goals (both short-term and long-term goals)? Limit your response to 750 words.
